Tommy DOG is a mad scientist, mixed with a healthy dose of Punk Rock with an encyclopedia sized memory for anything related to music.

Famous for his massive self indulgence, chemically induced lunacy, overt anger, wild sex life and subversive view of almost any subject put in front of him.

As a kid he cut his teeth arguing obscure records with the late Lester Bangs and impressing other old farts with his sharp wit and his ability to debate the most unimportant point as if he was a lawyer and a life depended on his winning.

Tommy DOG formed The Brain People in 1981, and between 1984 and 1989 bewildered his audience by switching his musical focus from post Hardcore Punk to Folk to Rock and then into a complete abyss of Avant Garde experiments that included all of the above but with orchestration.

At a time when Rollins was with Black Flag, GG Allen didn't mean shit and Glen Danzig was between The Misfits and Heavy Metal. Tommy did an unthinkably uncool thing, he called himself a solo artist.

Having leaped off the loopy deep end he has become both infamous and misunderstood. His experimental records sell in the collector market for their weird outsider quality at sometimes ridicules prices and his Punk records also sell for a respectable sum, possibly due to the period that they were made or for the all star bands that backed him.

Today he claims that he will focus mainly on Punk and leave his experimenting to The Brain People. He has plans of issuing older material on CD as well as perhaps doing something new.
